COSCUP is jointly held with GNOME.Asia Summit this year!

The joint conference of COSCUP / GNOME.Asia 2010 will be held on August 14 and 15. COSCUP (Conference for Open Source Coders, Users and Promoters) is the largest free & open source software (FLOSS) conference in Taiwan, and GNOME.Asia Summit is Asia’s GNOME user and developer conference, spreading the knowledge of GNOME across Asia. With a tagline of “Open Web and Mobile Technologies”, it emphasizes the exciting development in these two areas as well as the GNOME desktop environment, and leverages the world-leading hardware industry in Taiwan.

COSCUP is the largest annual FLOSS conference organized by local communities in Taiwan. The conference has sessions for newbie users, enthusiastic promoters, coders or anyone who is interested in the cutting-edge FLOSS technologies. The goal is to create a friendly and informative environment for people in different communities to make friends, learn new technologies and inspire each other in the conference.

GNOME.Asia Summit is an annual conference for GNOME users and developers in Asia. The event focuses primarily on the GNOME desktop and other devices that use GNOME, and also covers GNOME-based applications and GNOME development platform tools. It brings together the GNOME community in Asia to provide a forum for users, developers, foundation leaders, governments and businesses to discuss both the present technologies and future developments. GNOME.Asia Summit has been held in Beijing, China in 2008 and Ho-Chi-Minh City, Vietnam in 2009. The summit has been recognized as one of the top three FLOSS conferences in China in 2008 by the Chinese government and the biggest FLOSS conference in Vietnam in 2009 by the Vietnamese government. Please refer to //gnome.asia for more details.
