In the early stages, the core network was closed source code, and related technologies were also seized by technology giants such as Nokia, Ericsson, and Cisco.
Recently, an open-source core network project appeared on GitHub. free5GC follows 3GPP specification R15 and uses an Apache license to allow research institutes and small and medium-sized enterprises to use it for free research and even commercialization.
I hope everyone can quickly understand the 5gc architecture and how to contribute to open-source projects by attending the talk.
